I've only been there twice but I would always go back! As soon as you arrive in Corsica you'll notice that this island is one of the last, that hasn't been occupied by thousands of tourists yet. That's one of the reasons why you seriously can become one with the breathtaking nature around you!
So just relax and unwind while you look at my following photo diary! Enjoy! :)
I
bet you have seen this picture before! If you don't know what I'm
talking about...it's the picture in my header..hahaha. The city shown is
called Bastia. Most of the ferries arrive there.
This is just one example of how the beaches look like here in Corsica.
Look at how clear the water is!
Just one example of old buildings dipped in romantic summer evening light.
This picture was taken in Bonifacio. That's a really cute city on the far south of the island. Bonifacio has it's own haven and a lot of beautiful little restaurants and cafés. If you walk up to the citadel you have a beautiful view over the never ending sea and a couple of really cool looking cliffs! Starting there, you have a lot of opportunities to go shopping or to just stroll around.
You might also see this place along your way. That's actually a cemetery - but I've never seen such a beautiful one before!
Those pictures are examples of cute little cafés and restaurants in Porto-Veccio...or at least somewhere close.
You'll see hundreds of small churches and many citadels.
As you can see on the following pictures: You will be confronted with the beauty of the nature!
If you actually decide to spend your vacation on Corsica, you should definitely also visit the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse and the Monte Cinto! Not only the beaches are worth looking at but the beautiful landscapes in the middle of Corsica. If you are lucky, you will probably get the chance to shower under a small waterfall.
There's also a big variety of hiking tours you can do!
Sometimes you might take a glance at lakes...
Along your way you will see a lot of tiny cities - which could have also been on the cover of travel magazines or postcards.
Sadly, I don't really remember where these two pictures were taken...but I like them anyways :)
I hope I could some of you convince to spend their next summer on Corsica! But seriously?! Isn't it beautiful over there?
XOXO Laura
